What is the significance of the 2025 Kumbh Mela?
The 2025 Kumbh Mela is a Purna (complete) Kumbh, coming after 12 years. Further, this event is particularly significant as it is considered the Maha Kumbh, which happens once every 144 years (12 Kumbh cycles)
This rare alignment is believed to create an auspicious time for spiritual activities, with pilgrims taking holy dips in the rivers to cleanse themselves of past sins and attain moksha (liberation).
What are the Do’s and Don’ts for tourists?
Dos:
- Please check our website for details on accommodation, travel guidance, packing guidance and for key event dates over the course of the Kumbh Mela.
- Travel light and carry your essential medicines, as advised by the doctor
- Familiarise yourself with the locations of essential facilities like hospitals, fire fighting services, and other emergency services.
- Be attentive towards your belongings and Use Lost & Found Centres for any loss of belongings, while out in the Kumbh Mela
- Use only the Bathing areas/Ghats that are authorized by the Mela administration
- Please ensure hygiene and cleanliness within the Mohanji village and outside as well.
- Inform the Police or Mela Administration if any unidentified or suspicious object is found
- Follow the rules, regulations and instructions given through the Public Address System or any other mode
- Cooperate with the Departments involved in organizing the Mela
- While making any travel plans, provide for sufficient time for delays and hindrances
Don'ts
- Avoid carrying valuables, unnecessary food and clothing
- Don’t venture into the river beyond permissible limits
- Don’t pollute the rivers by using soaps, detergents for cleaning/washing purposes
- Don’t trust strangers - especially avoid eating at unauthorised places
- Don’t be in crowded places if suffering from any illnesses or contagious ailments
- Don’t use plastic bags in the city and mela area during the Maha Kumbh Mela

The Village provides a variety of spiritual and wellness activities, including:

How can I register for the Mohanji Village?
When is Mohanji available at the Kumbh Mela?
Is it possible to meet Mohanji during the Kumbh Mela?
While at the Kumbh Mela, Mohanji would conduct regular satsangs in the Program Hall in the Mohanji Village. All residents can meet him at those times.
Other than during program timings, Mohanji would have his own set of appointments and generally not be available for interacting with visitors then.
What accommodation options are available at the Mohanji Village?
- Cottages: Premium accommodation with 2 beds (with attached bathrooms)
- Premium Tents: 4 beds
- Basic Tents: 6 beds
Are meals provided at the Village?
Yes, all residents of the village will be provided with wholesome vegan sattvic meals, prepared to support participants' spiritual practices and overall well-being.
Further, we will also have a Vegan Cafe within our Village where guests can buy their preferred snacks and drinks as per their choice.
What facilities are available at the Village?
Facilities include:
- Clean and hygienic accommodations
- Saatvik vegan (plant-based) meals
- Filtered and coherent drinking water
- Clean bathrooms and toilets with running water. Bathrooms would have hot water available in the mornings
- Access to medical aid, as necessary
How do I reach Prayagraj for Kumbh Mela 2025?
Prayagraj is accessible by air, train, and road:
- By Air: The nearest airport is Prayagraj Airport (IXD), with connections from major cities - Delhi, Mumbai, and Bangalore.Varanasi airport is another option if IXD airport is not accessible to you for some reason.
- By Train: Prayagraj Junction is a major railway hub with trains from various parts of India.
- By Road: Regular bus services and private cabs are available from nearby cities like Varanasi and Lucknow.
Is transportation provided from the airport or train station to the Mohanji Village?

Participants of 15+ age are welcome. However, minors should be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
How does one register to stay at the Mohanji Village?
Please visit the Registration page to submit your registration. Contribution amounts vary based on your choice of accommodation. Further, the contribution amounts include 18% GST, as the event logistics are being handled by Gurulight, on behalf of Mohanji Foundation.
What payment methods are accepted?
Accepted payment methods include credit/debit cards, bank transfers, and other options as specified during the registration process.
Is there a refund policy in case of cancellation?
The refund policy is outlined on the official website. Please review it before completing your registration. To repeat here:
Cancellation and Refund Policy:
- 1 month or more before the check-in date: 100% refund (minus applicable bank transaction fees and forex conversion charges).
- 15 to 30 days before the check-in date: 50% refund (minus applicable bank transaction fees and forex conversion charges)
- Less than 15 days before the check-in date: No refund

Requests to change the check-in date, length of stay, or accommodation type after payment is confirmed are subject to availability and may not be guaranteed.
Are there any free activities I can join without registration?
The satsangs with Mohanji will be accessible to all visitors to the Kumbh Mela without any charges. All other guided processes are accessible only to residents of the Mohanji Village.
What is the weather likely to be during the Kumbh Mela?
The weather during the Kumbh Mela would be chilly. The general pattern is that nights are cold, mornings are cool and days are sunny and comfortable. Typical temperatures would be:
