Frequently Asked Questions

Kumbh Mela is a major spiritual pilgrimage and festival celebrated every 12 years at four rotating locations across India: Prayagraj, Haridwar, Ujjain, and Nashik. It involves mass gatherings of devotees who participate in rituals, including bathing in sacred rivers, to attain spiritual merit.
Kumbh Mela 2025 is scheduled from January 13 to February 26, 2025, in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh, at the confluence of three sacred rivers - Ganga, Yamuna, and Saraswati rivers.

The 2025 Kumbh Mela is a Purna (complete) Kumbh, coming after 12 years. Further, this event is particularly significant as it is considered the Maha Kumbh, which happens once every 144 years (12 Kumbh cycles)

This rare alignment is believed to create an auspicious time for spiritual activities, with pilgrims taking holy dips in the rivers to cleanse themselves of past sins and attain moksha (liberation).
